Atv idles but will not accelerate

If I just tap the throttle, it revs then returns to idle. Only when I hold the throttle, even just barely, it dies. This can be caused by many different things, but as a general rule of thumb whenever an atv starts running rough or become hard to start it's a really good idea to start with cleaning the carburetor and blowing out all of the jets and passages to rule that out. Oct 22, 2012 · It was pulled out after about 10 minutes. NO WATER was sucked into the intake and the spark plug was removed before trying to crank the engine after the rig was pulled out of the pond. I have even changed the throttle body and TPS with a unit from a parts RZR of the same year. If I just tap the throttle, it revs then returns to idle. Only when I hold the throttle, even just barely, it dies. I used some gas line antifreeze, but it didn't help. It will crank and run at slow speeds about half throttle but will backfire and not run if I press the pedal all of the way down. I drained the fuel tank and filled with 92 ethanol free.
